Which Eye Test Should I Book?
At Tuite Opticians Wishaw we offer two types of eye examinations depending on the level of detail you would like for your eye health check.
Both tests include a full professional eye examination with one of our experienced optometrists, but the Advanced Eye Test includes additional technology that allows us to see far deeper into the eye.
Standard Eye Test
A comprehensive eye examination that checks your vision and overall eye health.
Your test includes:
• Full vision and prescription check
• Eye health examination
• Advice on glasses or contact lenses if required
• Checks for common eye conditions
This test is suitable for routine eye examinations and may be covered by an NHS eye test if you are eligible.
Advanced Eye Test (Includes OCT Eye Scan)
Our most detailed eye health examination, recommended for patients who want the most thorough check of their eye health.
Alongside your full eye test, this appointment includes an OCT eye scan.
The OCT scan works a bit like an X-ray for the eye, allowing us to see beneath the surface and view the layers of the retina in incredible detail – something that cannot be seen during a standard eye examination.
This technology helps us detect early signs of conditions such as:
• Glaucoma
• Macular degeneration
• Diabetic eye disease
• Retinal problems
• Changes in eye health before symptoms appear
Many eye conditions develop silently and without warning, so the OCT scan allows us to identify potential problems years earlier than with a standard eye test alone.
