Independent, personal, and here for the long run.
Tuite Opticians is a family-run practice that has looked after Wishaw’s eyes since 1983. We combine decades of experience with the latest technology, and we take the time to get your prescription, your lenses and your frames exactly right.
We welcome patients with prescriptions from other opticians, and the practice is easy to reach: a public car park sits directly in front, there’s drop-off outside the door, step-free wheelchair access, and good bus and train links.

Every UK resident is entitled to a free NHS eye examination in Scotland. Book for yourself or the whole family.
OCT eye health scans
Detailed 3D imaging of the retina that helps spot glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease early.

From NHS options to Tom Ford, Gucci and Prada, chosen with you in our first-floor showroom.
Children’s eye care
Free NHS glasses for under-16s, fashion frames they’ll want to wear, and myopia management to slow short-sightedness.
Free home visits
Eye tests and glasses at home or in care, nursing and sheltered housing for anyone who can’t get to us easily. No charge for the visit.

Glasses rarely look the same on as they do online, so come upstairs and try them. If the brand you love isn’t on the shelf, we’ll source it for you.

OCT eye health scanner
See what a standard eye test can’t.
An OCT scan uses light to build a detailed image of the back of your eye. It’s the same technology used in hospital eye departments, and it can pick up signs of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration at a very early stage.
It takes a few minutes, it’s painless, and nothing touches your eye. We keep your images on file so we can compare them at every visit. £20, added to your eye test.
